EDDIE'S NOTE

There once was a farmer who wanted to up the production of his corn crop so he purchased a new corn seed that promised a high yield. Come harvest time the seed did exactly what it promised with an abundant crop. His farming neighbor asked him what it was he did to have such a good crop, but the farmer would not tell fearing he would lose his profitable competitive edge.

The second year the new seed did not do so well and the by the third year he was back to where he started. He then realized his farming error. His prize corn was being pollinated by the neighbor’s inferior corn. Had he shared the seed, his own corn crop would have been protected.

A self-centered life prevents one from caring about the needs of others. The early Christians realized this in Acts chapter 4 and shared with other Christians who had need. During the holidays much focus is given to receiving. May we never lose sight on the blessings of sharing.          Eddie
